2001 Chevy Lumina Torque converter switch

My check engine light recently came on so I ran a diagnostic test. The error read something similar to "Torque converter switch stuck on." I was noticing performance problems prior to and after the test. The engine seems to rev really high in 1st and 2nd gear, with little acceleration. After 3rd gear and into 4th the rpms return to normal and the car seems to run fine.
