2000 Chevy Lumina brake lights?

2000 Chevy Lumina

My brake lights went out.... so my turn signals don't wanna work neither...I checked the fuses an bulbs they all good? I click on my hazards it don't wanna stay down...so do u think I have a wire unplugged asomething? If so do u know location? Thanks!

Check to see if your 3rd (high mount) brake light works. If it does, then you likely have a bad turn signal switch in the steering column. It's part of the combination switch.

Yup It do works...but all of sudden I wonder y brakes light an turn signal just stop working

I just told you why. You have a bad turn signal switch or the plug going into it.

sorry about the other guy. obviously no patients. your turn signla switch is a hub for that electrical circuit. up from the stoplight switch and to the turn signal. which is in the column. you'll need to pull the steering wheel to access the sensor. ive repaired mine with rubbing alcohol and a q tip to clean the contacts and a small screw driver to extend the contacts into better range to make physical contact. oddly enough in my case only one light was out when braking and turns worked fine. difficult issue to identify though took me some time..
