1997 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive

4 sum reason my car wont start-ihavnt had a tuneup 4 a while now but ive been driven nonstop. at times the car will shut off and wont turn over after several times of trying. my servise engine light is always on-and iwould always have to put water on the engine to cool it off when it wont start-sumtimes

If your engine light is on you need to retrieve the trouble code(s) to find out what’s wrong.
Some autopart stores do it for free.
If you have to add coolant to your radiator all the time, you have a leak (internal or external) that will need to be fixed. Inspect your cooling system for external leak, check your oil and transmission fluid to make sure there's no coolant in them. If your car burns coolant, you may notice a lot of white smoke coming out of the tailpipe.
