I have a 1996 Chevy Lumina with a 3.1L engine. The problem I have is that the car is misfiring with some hesitation. The code P0305 is coming up on the “Service Engine Soon” light. I have changed the Spark Plugs, Wire Set, Coil for #5 Cylinder, Fuel Filter, and I put cleaner for the Fuel Injector and it is not doing anything, I have been doing that for the past 3 weeks. By the way, every time I go up a little hill or something the “Service Engine Soon” light would flash a couple times. Could you help me with that?

I have checked/replaced the following parts:

1.Spark plugs and wires
2.Fuel Filter
3.PVC Valve
4.Ignition Coil
5.Throttle Position Sensor
6.EGR Valve
7.Distributor
8. MAP Sensor
9.Air Filter
10.Coil Pack

Misfire at no.5 check compression and injector

Misfires can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.

rasmataz,
Thank you so much for helping me with that. I am installing the new injector today and testing the cat tomorrow (9/30/08). If this doesn't solve the problem, what next? Thank you for all your help. Thank you.

rasmataz,
I checked everything at a car service center for that and he said everything checks out at car's recommendations. What could it be. What should I do/replace now?

rasmataz,
I checked the upper manifold gasket and it is brand new. What could it be next? I'm going to check the #5 spark plug to see if it looks ok. After that I don't know what to do, I'm about to trade it in for a new car. I'm really getting tired of it. Hope you can help me... Thank you and reply A.S.A.P.... Thanks....
