1996 Chevy Lumina Front Wheel Drive

when i turn the key to the on position everything turns on then when i go to start the car everything shuts off and this security light starts blinking, is there a way to fix this problem or to bi- pass the security? or is the security not the problem? I need help it is the only car me and my girl friend have and we have 3 kids and live in the country. is there a way to shut the security off? thx for you input

Did you try cleaning the key, or using a different key?

If the lite is flashing, don't try to crank it, wait and see if the lite goes out, it may take several minutes. If the lite goes out, then try to start.

If you the vats theft system, there is a bypass procedure. I'm not sure about the forum rules, here, about bypassing a theft system. Somebody with a higher ranking than myself, may have to talk to you.
