I am swapping out a motor and Trans from a 1993 Lumina into my 1992 Lumina. The wire harness has a different plug into the front of the Trans. The one that is on the original (1992) has 5 wires going to it and the one that is going into the car (1993) has 6 wires and the plugs are different shape. The 1992 has the kick down cable going from the throttle body into the Trans and the 1993 does not so I am assuming that the 6th wire is an electrical kick down...correct me if I am wrong.

My question is how do I make this 1993 work as far as hooking up the wire harness.

Can I splice wires and use the plug that fits? If so where is that 6th wire going.

Do I have to change computers also?

I have the entire 1993 car so I should be able to rob from it whatever I need.

The 1993 has only 66000 miles on it which is why I am doing this.

Thanks

you are better off just going with the 92 trans and going trough it as the computer will have to be changed but will also have different plugs as well i'd bet. But here's your diagram.....
