my 1991 lumina has a v6 engine and nearly 38000 miles on it. a few months after i first got it, my engine light started to turn on after a few miles of driving, every time i would drive, and when i would stop the car, or even slow down sometimes, and then try to accelerate afterwards, my car would hesitate for typically three to five seconds, and then all of a sudden lurch forward. this went on for a while and got worse, but then my dad took a look at my car. he said that he attached a wire that loked like it had come loose (i have no idea what he actually did, i don't even think he fully knows what he did) and then my car was fine and i didn't have the problem again. until now, that is. my car is hesitating after being stopped again, but this time my engine light is not on when it happens. i have no idea what is wrong with it, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on what to check, they would be much appreciated. thanks.
