I'm tring to repair my mom's 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS & get it to fully factory working order. With nearly 165,000 miles on the LT1 engine, she has seen better days. Everything on it is factory, no add on's or after market stuff. When trying to drive it round the block, we shifted it from park, neutral, then reverse to back it out. Once on the street however, putting it into drive, it just sat there & went nowhere. So all it can do now is just work in park,neutral, & reverse. My guess is it is just something with transmission or gears or something in that general area. If it is something that can be fixed at the house then great, but if its better to take it to a real mechanic,then thats fine too. If you happen to know a price range too, Id greatly appreciate it.
