WHERES THE THERMOSTAT?

Well i just shot my thermostat on 89 Honda Civic, so i am wondering where would it be. I believe i found it right behind the fan in the front of my car but not sure if it is. I would really love some help if you guys could I dont really know much about cars so if yu could help me out it would be much appreciated

i'm not a huge knowledge on 4th gen civics but if you follow the lower radiator hose to the engine block you should see the thermostat housing and it is inside there, a haynes manual is somewhat helpful.

from my experience it is actually on the engine end of the top radiator hose, in a housing shaped like a rounded diamond.
