transfer case pops out of four high

i have a 98 trooper auto, well maintained. it started popping out of 4wheel dr. high, so i had the transfer case replaced and the vacuum switches on the front axle. nothing has changed. when i hit the shift on the fly button, i only drive a few feet, and the transfer case shifter handle will pop out of gear. am i overlooking something? please help. thanks, mike
