Rapid brake pad loss on one wheel.

Working with a 2001 Impala 3.8L WITH 80,000 miles. (6 months ago) I repaired the front brakes after my wife stated she heard noise from the front. I replaced the pads on the right side and EVERTHING on the left. The left pads were gone AKA missing so the caliper piston was pushing directly on the rotor. I replaced the rotor, caliper and pads on the left. I bled the system and everything seemed fine. Now after more grinding noise surfaced the left side has uneven grooves in the rotor and the pads are nearly worn, (only 6 months and only one side). Could the new caliper be the problem, or maybe the master cylinder? Please point me in the right direction.

Different possiblilites, but for the record, what you do to one side of the brakes, you should do to the other.

Might be a bad caliper, although a fluid restriction could also affect it. Very doubtful on the master however. Caliper should be under warranty, make sure you use a good high temperature caliper grease on the moving parts and if you have rear drum brakes, clean and adjust them at the same time.
