oil leak in lower intake gasket & upper plenum engine co

2000 Impala 140,000 Miles

Took car in for servicing and tech said we need to replace a lower intake gasket because oil is leaking.On service date also identified needing upper plenum engine cover - said that is too leaking.

Total repair cost of $1,288.

We never see any oil. Had experienced check oil light once (added oil) but not again.
Car doesn't seem to be using excess oil between changes which we get done regularly

Any ideas?

Those did go through intake gaskets. Have you had any low coolant issues, they usually leak coolant, but oil is not unheard of. The upper only carries air, not sue what is leaking there. If you do have th ework done, be sure to have them replace the oil pump drive o'ring (used to be the distributor o'ring) they leak oil all the time and are mistaken for rear main seal leaks
