I have a 2000 Silverado Z71, and I want to remove the axles for some routine maintenance. I am somewhat familiar with the procedure of removing the Differential pin and the c-clips, but this differential looks much different than what I am used to. There are extra gears and things in the way of getting to the pin. Is the procedure any different on a 4wd Locking differential than on an open rear end? Do I have to remove any part of the Differential to gain access to the C-clips? Is there anything else I should be aware of?
