I have a 02 chevy impala with the 3.4 engine. When it had about 65,000 miles it developed a clunk that you could feel in the steering wheel when you applied the brakes or made a turn. I took it to a repair shop and they said there was an alert out for that vehicle and the steering rod should be lubricated. They said it would cost about $200 to do it because you had to take a lot of things apart to lubricate it. Is that the problem or could it be something else. The car now has about 150,000 and we have had no safety problems with the steering, but it has gotten worse. What should we do?
