power steering hoses

Me and my father have been trying to replace my high pressure power steering line in my 2006 Chevy impala and we found the nut but we can't seem to get to it from the bottom of top of the car, is there any way possible we can get to the nut easily and change the line

I have a 2005 Impala and saw what you posted for a 2004 and the diagrams look identical to what I am seeing in my car. My question is what is the best way to get the line connections at the gear? From underneath or down through the top? Any tips you could share would be appreciated.

I attached the entire procedure for replace the steering gear. From my experience, I normally do this on a lift and always get them from underneath. So I am sure you can find other people that may say from above but I do it from underneath.

Help.

Here is what I have from GM service information. Power steering pressure pipe/hose replacement (3.4L). Removal procedure: Place a drain pan under the vehicle.

Remove the power steering pressure line from the power steering pump. Remove the power steering pressure line from the power steering lines retaining bracket on the engine.

The power steering pressure line is the lower line at the power steering gear. Remove the power steering line from the power steering gear . Access the line from the engine compartment, between the rocker arm cover and the front of the dash mat. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

Remove the power steering pressure line (1) from the clamps on the power steering gear. Remove the power steering pressure line (1) from the vehicle. Installation Procedure

Install the power steering pressure line (1) to the vehicle. Install the power steering pressure line (1) to the clamps on the power steering gear. Lower the vehicle.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. Install the power steering pressure line to the power steering gear. Tighten Tighten the power steering pressure line fitting to the power steering gear to 27 N ·m (20 lb ft). Install the power steering pressure line to the power steering lines retaining bracket on the engine.

Install the power steering pressure line to the power steering pump. Tighten Tighten the power steering pressure line fitting to the power steering pump to 27 N ·m (20 lb ft). Fill the power steering system with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid . Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding . Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .

my power steering return line is split and I need to know the best way to remove it . i was told it had to come out the wheel well. i dont like that sloution. this is the line that wraps around the engine. it feeds the rack and pinion i believe and goes around the front of the motor.

I am replacing leaking power steering return hose in my car it is the SS model. It has gotten me to the point where I think I am going to blow it up from frustration of installing the new return hose. I need to know the proper way to install the new hose ASAP! I need to get my children to and from school before I get a citation for their outstanding absences. Please help me we are currently homeless and cannot even look for a place to live without our car. Any links with the procedure and detailed images would very much be appreciated.
