When I got into my car this morning, I was unable to steer it out of my garage. When I pulled the car out, I noticed a puddle of amber colored liquid that had the consistency of syrup on the floor of my garage. I've not had any leakage problems in the past with this car and could only attribute this to a bumpy railroad track that I drove over the previous day. What is the likely problem and what do I have to do to fix it? If I take the car to a mechanic, what will be (more commonly) a part(s) that I will be told needs to be repaired? I don't want them to try to tell me I need a new transmission or something extreme like that when I know that wasn't transmission fluid.
