2005 Chevy Impala Trasflush?

I am purchasing an 05 Chevy Impala LS with 86k. I had the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic (whom we've been going to for years w/no issues). He told me that before agreeing to the purchase they needed to fix- Trans cooler lines Tie rod end (front right) Wheel bearings (front right) AND Transflush Dealer agreed to all of the above. Car shifts & drives fine. Do you agree with a Transflush? What are the benefits and risks of doing this, or is there better options?

The transmission fluid should be flushed every 40-50 K miles. A mechanic would pull the dipstick and check the color and smell of the trans fluid while it's hot.

If it's discolored, or smells burnt, then they'll recommend you replace it.

If you trust this mechanic, then go along with his recommendations. You can't do any harm with a trans flush, and you'll only extend the life of your trans by flushing it at the recommended intervals.
