i installed a power contol module from jet perfomance. now my check engine light came on. i scanned it and it said that the map sensor has a low signal. i'm curious as to wether or not this will affect my cars performance or if it will affect the engine in a bad way or not.

Yes, it will affect the performance. I would suggest removing the performance module. They cause way too many problems with the vehicle's electronics.
