2005 Chevy Impala Is this a good idea?

I have recently heard radio advertisting for places like stoprepairbills.com that they would take care of any anything on your car if it broke, if you signed on with them. I was thinking of getting it b/c car repairs can cost alot I wanted to know if anyone has this or thinks its a good idea to get.

Be careful what you sign up for.

I purchased one of the warranties similar to the one you write about, only I got it from a dealer when I bought my used car. Getting the warranty was my first mistake. Agreeing to a deductible was my second. The warranties are written to cover the items that are listed on the warranty and "only" the items that are listed.

Example: I had an ignition system problem with my 2000 Impala and the mechanic said I had a bad ignition module. The insurance company denied the coverage of the claim because ignition module was not listed. The similar component for older model cars was listed, but they still refused to cover the ignition module.

I'll never buy another after-market warranty again. At the time I purchased it, I thought it was too good to be true. AND IT WAS.

Just my opinion, of course, so you decide.
