2005 Chevy Impala Fuel Filter Replacement

2005 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Automatic

How do I replace the fuel filter that has a quick connect/disconnect. It appears that I neede a special tool to remove the fuel filter becuase only one end can be disconnected with a wrench. What tool do I need & how do I use it? Thanks

No need for special tool.
One end is a quick disconnect: simply use a plier and push on the outer tabs. If you're not sure how it works, look at the new filter you bought and you'll figure it out. The other end is a bolt. It could be pretty rusty and you may have to put some WD40 or liquid wrench on it for a couple of days prior removal.
I suggest you get you a set of flare nut wrenches for this job, especially if you have to fight that bolt a little; you'll have a much better grip than a regular crescent wrench.
Make sure you relieve fuel pressure before you start.
