I felt a pulsating when braking in our car I took it to get looked at and they told me that the rotors were warped, the thing that I didn't get is that the pads were not bad. How can a rotor warp without the pads being gone? I guess I am wondering if i got took or what? They were saying that the newer rotors are made differently than old ones, they also said that they couldn't machine them because the new rotors are made so thin to begin with. I just don't get it. Is this true?

a few things can cause the rotors or drums to warp.

most likely it is caused by using the brakes alot and then putting on the parking brake or adjusting the rear brakes, can also be caused due to overtorquing the lug nuts on the wheel, but most likely it is due from going through water with hot brakes.
