I took my car in to get the starter fixed and the mechanic told my husband that the bushings needed to be replaced and that he could do them for us since he was already working on the car. He said that we should have been hearing noises coming from the front end but we hadn't heard anything at that time but we decided to have them replaced at that time just because it was there. So now I pick up my car and it's making horrible clunking noises when we go over small bumps in the road. Took it back and they said the bushings needed to be tightened, sorry for that. Worked fine until the next day, same problem but even worse this time. Now he says that one of the main bolts was loose this time and now it's fixed should be just fine. Can't think of why else it would be making that noise. Not 2 miles after getting my car back it's making the same noise. What could be wrong. I don't want to take it back to this guy who obviously can't fix it but don't want to spend tons of money taking it to someone else.

sounds like he may have broke something. have it inspected somewhere else and see what they say. if it is something the other person did confront him on it

I had the same problem with noise in the front end of me 2000 impala. They ended up adding shims in with the front end bushings. This took care of the problem. I was told GM put out a bulletin on this problem.
