2002 Chevy Impala Air Only Works Sometimes

Sometimes the fan/air will not come on. Other times, it works fine. Any quick tests before expensive diagnostics? Thanks for any help you can provide.

blower motor resistors go out all the time in these vehicles. that is the most likely cause. it is located on the passenger side of the HVAC box right about where the carpet starts. it has about 5 wires going to it. use a 5.5mm socket to remove it.
