2001 Chevy Impala tpms

if you are talking about, the check engine light, some cars can reset the light just by unplugging the negative battery cable for a few minutes. once reconnected it may trigger another code , which is code 12, "battery recently disconnected". at this point you will need to let the car go through its relearn mode and if this vehicle is capable, it will reset itself, an alternative is, if you live near an autozone ,advance auto parts, checkers or even your local parts place will reset your engine codes for FREE.

The tire pressure monitor light is seperate fromt the check engine light. Two of the tires were down 8 lbs from the others. Outside temp dropped below 30 degrees. We don't have the owners manual. I wanted to know if a scanner or special tpms monitor is needed to reset the light or if there is a built in sequence in the cars system. Disconecting the battery didn't do it. sorry i didnt know you were talking about the tire pressure indicator... once you fill all of the tires to the correct pressure, after the computer relearn procedure, which is drive it for 15 minutes or so, it should go out by itself, if not then go ahead and bring it to autozone so that they can reset it.
