Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My car will have a rattling sound or noise like a wheel spinning that seems to be coming from the engine. It doesn't happen all the time. I happens when accelerating or going up a hill. I don't seem to loose any power.
It does seem to be intermitent right now.
Does this sound like 'bearings' of some sort.
The engine also seems to 'miss a beat' when I am stopped with the car in gear. I feel this through the brake pedal. My mechanic says there are no 'miss' codes coming up on the on board computer.
