Noises problem
2000 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Car has a cluncking sound that seems to be felt like in the inside of the car at the brake or low steering column. When the car turns left and accelerates or decelerates it's noticeable but so far not on riight turns. Also, when speed gets to 50mph it decreases in sound a bit.

that really sounds like a outer CV joint, or a front wheel bearing.

what would a job like either cv or bearing cost? and are either long jobs?

the cost for a CV shaft around here would be about 60~80 bucks.

the front hub and bearing cost 80~100.

and less than 2 hours for either job.

If it's the CV shaft, I've seen people drive for months on a bad shaft, just accelerate slowly around turns.

If it's a bearing, then you should have it replaced very soon.

A lot of tire shops will check your suspension for free, in hopes of finding a problem so they can sell you some work.
