Engine Performance problem
1994 Chevy Impala V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 190xxx miles
I had this problem where I would be driving along then all of a sudden the car would die but i was able to restart the car immedately after it died. We played this game for about 3 weeks before it wouldnt start at all. at first i thought it was a vacuum problem so i checked all the vacuum hoses and replaced a few of the hoses, egr, egr solenoid switch, pcv valve, fuel filter. and still the car wont start. I know the car has fuel pressure and the fuel pump works. the only thing that i can track down is the distributor. I have been told that the distributor or optispark is a bad design and usally go out a lot. I am hoping for some insight. anything will help .. thank you
