My vehicle has an AC Delco Fuel Filter with 3 lines. One Inlet to the filter from the fuel pump, One Outlet to the carburetor.
The 3rd is an "outlet" line. Does it connect back to the fuel tank? Why is there a connection back to the fuel tank? Is it for excess fuel or preassure?
Can I replace my 3 line fuel filter with a 2 line simply connecting to the carburetor, eliminating 3rd line return to the fuel tank?

Thank you for taking the time ot answer my question.

There should be another fitting on the fuel pump to attach that to. If the pump doesn't have one, just use a 2 line filter.
