Engine Performance problem
1963 Chevy Impala V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

283 chev.I removed 2 bl.manifold/Carb.& installed proper used 4 bl. manifold , date and code for this eng. with a Edelbrock 1403-500CFM carb.On start up,eng. missed.I replaced plug wires,Dist.cap,Roto cap.points & reset all to 61 shop Manual spec.Timing set @ 4 dig.eng. starts easy, but missing on 8,3,5&2.
New fuel filter .I can pull plug wire a dist.on these , no change on eng.There is fire a the dist.on these wires.The 4 dead cyl.are every other one in fire order ??Compression checked on #1 (it's working ok) and # 8 (not working) Compression was the same on both cyl.Timing set correct,# 1 plug to dist. is correct.eng. worked ok before manifold/carb change.
I have checked & rechecked fire order and # 1 & ect.All plug wires are taged(numbered) and install correct.Coil not changed. Any sugestion ???????
