Will not go into park?

Hello, My equinox drove fine today. When I arrived at work the car would not go into park. I engaged the parking brake and turned off the engine. I made it home ok but now it will not go in to reverse either. Suggestions??

More than likely this is a shift cable issue. It could be an internal transmission or manual valve issue but more than likely this cable is out of adjustment or needs to be replaced.

What I would suggest is removing the cable for the transmission side and try to manually put it in park. If it goes into park then you need to adjust the cable.
