the problem is that i was told that i need a $150 scoche interface adapter to wire this radio in. Is there any way to wire in this radio with some basic car wiring knowledge. Splices/ goaround tricks so that i can bypass this way overpriced device

NO you do not want to do that you will have more problems then you will know what to do with. You will need to bite the bulet and just get the proper adapter sorry but that is just how it is. Thanks.
