I recently bought a 1981 El Camino and I live in California they took off the smog pump and pulled all the vacuum lines I can't figure out where the line go can you help?

I some how got my color codes mixed up from my ac selector controls. now vacume doors don't open & close like they should. is there somewere I could find a diagram?

I looked, but out program dosent go back that far, but, usually the servos have a colored dot on them to coincide with the colored stripe on the vacuum line.

I'm the first owner of 77 4.1 6 cil. Elcamino.

Over the years many mechanical disconnected all my vacuum hoses from carburetor etc..

Q1: is that a way you will publish a vacuum hose diagram ? (I have rochester monojet carburetor)

Q2: my ideal stop solenoid is disconnected, where to connect the electric wire?

Q3: if car & weather are cold, what is the position of chock shelf should be? fully close?

as far as your diagramn goes, try a library and see if htey have a manual on it. It would tell you where stuff goes. the solenoid wire should connect to a tab sticking up at the rear of the solenoid, if it's not busted off. The choke shelf should be closed when it's cold but as soon as it starts there should be a shoke pulloff to open the plate a little bit. so it will idle fast an send black smoke out the exaust and idle like crap. there should be a small hose that goes to a vacuum motor to a full vacuum port on the carb.

I wanna install a simple mechanical temp gauge on my 76 el camino classic with a 350 v8 2bbl. there are ports on the manifold but they have vacuum ports . There is a vacuum port on top of the I could put it there but if I remove and plug off the vacuum lines im afraid it will make the carburetor run rough. the reason im wanting to do this is to monitor how the engine is cooling . All the car has is a light to show when the car is running hot. please help me

Don't expect to read temperature if you install the gauge into a vacuum port. You have to go into a coolant port, preferably near the thermostat for accuracy.

what about removing the vacuum switch and plugging off the vacuum lines on top of the thermostat housing then putting the sensor probe on there

or would it be better to remove the original sensor and replace it with the mechanical gauge ive purchased

If it has a temp controlled vacuum switch, you can't just eliminate it. You are better going into the original temp socket.

ok when I remove this socket will a lot of fluid come out and im gonna install a mechanical gauge will it get a false reading being so close to the exhaust ,its located between the plugs 1 and 3

Yes, you will lose some coolant and that is the same place the factory took temp readings from.

my 350 on my 76 elcamino classic a has a 2bbl carb but I cannot tell if it is a 2g,2gc,or 2gv can you help?

another problem I have is it does not have a solenoid to increase the idle when the a/c comes on

I'm not familiar with those designations.
