hood latch broken

Help help help
I have a 1981 vette that the hood on the passanger side will not release.. The driver side opens a little and I can reach the cable for the other latch. The cable I believe is broken or no longer attached. Is there a way to fix this? I really do not want to break the hood. Any suggestions would help.

Look on the back of the fire wall under the hood. In winsheild area. There you will find a plug. It is a access to the release. Push in the plug. Use a screw driver. An feel around. You will hit the latch and release the hood. Once you open the hood replace the cable. Good luck
