When you change gears from forward to reverse with the A/C on the engine idle speed drops below 500 rpm's the effect is the tensioner pulley rattles and make a lot of noise. Returned to the dealer and they say that a $450.00 alternator replacement will correct the noise problem, not sure how that will keep the idle speed at 600 where it wants to be but that was their take for a solution to the problem. I say remap the controller to recover sooner and not let the idle speed drop below 600 and the problem goes away, the dealer said there is not a patch to this solution.
What say you?

I say have you check any aftermarket alternators? They are all rebuilt anyway.

PCM has to see the rpm drop before it can respond.they keep the idle low to lower the slam on drivetrain when put in gear.Try cleaning out around the butterfly in the throttle bore with carb cleaner and a rag. This should help stabilize the idle.
