1996 corvette dies while driving

2 dr coup, The car just dies while driving, all the lights stay on so it's not losing power, when I restart the car it sometimes fires right back up and sometimes it takes two or three trys. There is no check engine light on and I Took it to a dealer they informed me since they was no chec engine on when they hook up computor and could not dup the problem to drive it until check engine light comes on? This is happening more often, yesterday driving 7 miles to the store it died twice on the way and twice on the way back? it just poof dies no studder
