Seat belt light stays on after belt is put together?

Hello,

One of the most common causes for the seat belt light to stay illuminated if there is any foreign object that get stuck in the buckle.
Another reason is there is any sticky residue from a spilled drink on the buckle.
So, cleaning out the buckle is a good first step.

Also, the light can stay illuminated if there is an open in the wiring. So even with the belt engaged the circuit does not complete and the light stays on.
