my car is overheating while driving but as soon as i put the heater on full the meter return to normal

Replace the thermostat.

the same thing happened to my 84 vette....and i did what the person said to....get a new sensor. that worked for me...cuz its a little scary when it says 299 degrees and you loose all power!
