1980 Chevy Corvette Air conditioner will not blow cold air

I have a 1980 corvette, and no matter what I try I can not get the air conditioner to blow cold air once the temperature outside gets warm. My brother has a 1979 corvette and has the same problem. What is the solution to this problem. I have just had it checked out and the freon checked..it is full...but I can not get the thing to cool.

As long as the temp door is operating properly, I would have to know the pressures when the ambient temp is cold and then when it is hot and the a/c wont work.System pressure is how a/c works, so it can tell you alot about what is going on. Any chance of finding out the pressures? Does the a/c compressor clutch stay engaged the entire time? Does it feel like it is working at all when the vehicle is moving vs sitting still idling?
