When selecting the type of heat/ac you want it does not change. When in the off position the heater/ac is off. When selecting defrost, ac, floor heat, etc. you only get air coming out of the vents on the dashboard. It never changes to the vents by the front window, or the floor heat. It stays the same no matter what.
