1993 Chevy Corsica Unknown Problem

my car will start, but if i dont immediatley press the gas down it will die. after this i can put it into drive or reverse and it will go as long as my foot never leaves the gas pedal. when i come to a complete stop or low speeds without reving gas it dies. I just had the oil, air filter, and battery replaced. anyone have an idea whats wrong with my car? im at a loss

Hi:
If I had to guess, I would say either the idle air control valve (IAC) or the throttle position sensor (TPS) may be bad. Is the check engine light on?

yes the check engine light is on

Hi:
What I want you to do is take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. Most stores will do it for free, and if the light is on, there is a code, and it should identify the problem.

Let me know what you find.
