I have had extensive repair work done on this engine and it still has this elusive problem that can't seem to be identified. The fuel injectors have been cleaned. It has new spark plugs, and spark plug wires etc.

The first shop that did some repair work for me could not find the reason for this problem.

But the mechanic did locate some information on the Internet using the (International Association of Technicians Networks Guide) about the Chevy Corsica having a poor design flaw in that particular engine.

There were several posts that said the fix for the rough idle problem was to replace the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets.

I had the gaskets checked for any leaks back on 4-7-2008 and there were not any.

The gaskets were rechecked by a different auto repair shop on 5-8-2008 and still there were no leaks.

The gaskets were checked a third time for leaks by the second auto repair shop I went to on 7-12-08 and no leaks were found.

The problem has been getting worse as far as the idle being rough. Did not have the gaskets checked again this time at the auto repair shop on 3-25-09.

A new alternator was installed. The oil was changed with Rieson (or Rieslon) added to he oil. New coolant tank installed. Rear wheel Cylinders installed, Brake clean used to clean area where leaks had occurred on rear brakes. New brake past on front.

When vehicle was picked up I was told that the Belt Tensioner was wobbling from side to side and needs to be replaced soon.

No codes have been pulled from engine regarding mechanical problems. A vacuum leak was discovered and fixed. A new heater core was installed last month.

A new power steering gear box has been installed. Two major radiator hoses replaced. A new map sensor and wiring harness has been installed. This is all the repair work I can think of but there could be more I have overlooked.

Do you think the problem could possibly be the intake manifold gaskets leaking? I have still not seen any evidence of any leaks after all the time that has gone by. Could it possibly be a bad wire that is not grounded right, or the covering has worn off?

I really want my car to run better. I have had it a year now and am just making the last car payment. I have put allot of money into the car and it still is idling real rough. I hope you can provide an answer as to why. I promise to donate more to your web site on the first of next month. But this last repair bill ran me $911.00 so I am flat broke right now, sorry.
