1988 Chevy Corsica noises around the engine

my engine hasnt made a noise till last night when i started it, then it started a ticking noise, and when i hit the pedal the ticking starting going faster. This is the first time it has happened, i wanted to know what is wrong?

Hi there,

A ticking noise can often be a noisy lifter or lash adjuster, if so often a oil change with a good quality flush can fix the problem, also a small leak at the exhaust manifold can also tic, check this out.
