2006 Chevy Colorado Car having trouble starting with cold e

I just purchased my 06 Colorodo and it has trouble starting at first, especially early in the morning.

I know the vehicle was sitting at the dealership for atleast a few months. What is most likely causing this problem and what type of problems would I expect from a vehicle that has been sitting for a long period?

Have you had a check engine light while driving? Any idea when it last had a tune up? As far as sitting for a few months, it really shouldn't cause you any problems. Belts and hinges have a tendancy to dry out, but nothing serious. If you can give us the above information, we can go from there. Please advise.

There 's no check engine light on or any thing like that. I dont know when a tune up was done. Is it worth getting a starting system diagnostics? Is a tune up really necessary at 16000 milies?

What does the vehicle do when you try to start it cold? Does it just crank but won't fire, or try to srart but won't quite get going? Please advise.

It will just keep cranking, and not fire up right away. I will then turn the ignition back off, try it again and it will start up without having to crank as much. It hasn't been as bad lately, but it hasn't been as cold either.

Could it be a problem, or just the car getting used to being driven every day? It was sitting for a while before.

Well, I can come up 3 causes to start with.
1- weak coil spark
2- engine temp sensor
3- fuel pressure on start up.
Any one of these 3 could cause your problem. There is no definate single answer without having these three tested.
