Knocking noise

2005 chevorlet cobalt, 36000, 2,4 L. When I put my car in neutral and was rolling without putting it into gear, i heard a knocking noise, but when i put it in gear there was no noise, please help me with this question. thank you

i have experienced that same knocking noise and i found out that the oil was low...but i would take it in just to get it checked out to make sure that it doesnt turn inot something EXPENSIVE....
