A few months ago both key fobs began to work intermittently so I replaced the batteries. This did not solve the problem. Lately it has gotten so 90% of the time my key fob simply will not work then I am forced to unlock the car with the key manually, which causes the alarm to go off. I now no longer even use the key fob, I just lock my doors manually, but for some reason even with my key fob stored in my glove box, simply pushing the lock down sets the alarm? What do you think could be causing this? I pulled the fuse out for the horn so it is not quite so embarassing, since every time I get in my car everyone stares at me. Is there any way to disable the alarm? Also, my car ran for 3-4 seconds this morning then shuddered and shut off. Do you think the security system shut the fuel off? Could I argue this is a safety issue with the dealer and have them pay to repair it?
