Installed new injectors, still didn't fix it?

I recently replace my SCPI injectors to MFI, because 1 of my injectors wasnt working. My truck ran fine for a day, and its SPUTTERING as if it wants to shut of during Idle and while its Running.

Prior to this problem my truck was running on 5 cylinders. thats the reason i changed the injectors and I was told that its a common problem with the original injectors. mides well replace them all. right.

I own a 98 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 305 5.0 truck. It has approx. 130,00 miles. I need to replace my injectors for the second time in 2 1/2 years. Is there reason why these injectors can be causing such a problem in a short amount of time? Can you also explain to me if possible how to replace them. Being that I am a full time college student i don't have the money for expensive shop labor fees. I also had them cleaned as well as my fuel pump and fuel filter replaced twice. Any type of info or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

whats going wrong with them, are they shorting out or are they plugging up.

to remove just take off the air intake manifold and the fuel injectors should pull out of the rail with a firm pull.

my engine idles hard and misses when accelerating. I thought cleaning them would solve the problem, but that was just a temporary fix. I actually had the injectors replaced a year and a half ago. I was mistaken when I said it was 2 1/2 yrs. When adding the cost of parts and labor for reparing twice, I can buy a new engine. It's been very frustrating.

change the fuel filter and drain and scrub your fuel tank, may be full of bad gas causing the injectors to plug up and stop working.

Also fuel with a high ethanol content is known to plug fuel injectors at a furious rate. It leaves a lot of deposits which harden after turning off your engine and plug up the fuel injectors and coat a lot of stuff.

History of injector problems?
One cylinder is half dead. Pro told me it might be blown out with a long highway drive on premium gas.
I haven't done that.
In the meantime, it idles rough and I'm certain I'm not getting the mileage I could.
Anybody have to replace injectors?
Anybody get results without such drastic measures?

Check that cylinder's sparkplug, compression and injector-

I have a 1988 Chevy c1500. Fuel injectors aren't letting fuel into the throttle. The fuel pump comes on and im getting fuel pressure. I just changed the computer but nothing changed. Is there any other sensors that control the injectors. Its a 5.7 tbi.

It sounds like you have a shorted fuel injector which is common. Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

Im getting spark on all plugs. Im not getting pulse though. Im getting power to one side of the injectors. I noticed when i ground out the other side the injector stays on.

Yes, that's how an injector works. The computer pulses the ground. Is you're check engine light coming on for bulb check when the key is turned on?

Yes the check engine light comes on but I don,t get any codes but 12 meaning no problems detected.

Things are starting to look like the injector is shorted which will stop the drivers from working.

Injectors won't fire there is fuel to the injector I know because when I use a tester light to check if injectors have power right and left lead wires show power but when i test the left wire on either injector it will fire what little gas it has in there.i left my phone recording they don't shoot while cranking at all. Appreciate the help thank you for your time

Are you missing anything else? With the engine cranking, do you have spark at the plugs? Your computer controls the fuel injectors on the ground side, engine cranking. The engine has to be cranking to check ground pulse for fuel injector. If the computer doesn't see rpm signal, no injector pulse. The rpm signal comes from distributor. I haven't looked at your wiring, yet.

I'd also want to check fuel pressure. Check for applicable trouble codes, see if anything shows up. Your obd1, you should be able to check codes, yourself. You use a jumper wire between the A & B terminals at datalink connector, turn key just till the dash lites come on, no further. The mil on the dash starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes.

Last time I checked the spark coming from the wires next to the engin block I did just did the fuel pump did the distributor set up about 3 years back its was pretty corroded in there I have another computers from you pull it it still didn't shoot the injectors or it shoots when it wants cuz before it was shooting on the left side but the right side would not fire and would be flooded on top got different injectors from you pull it they both work but now won't fire while cranking again again thanks for the help

I found another problem that i fixed at the same time. It was a bad wire coming from the ignition module. Thanks for your help.

Numbers matched on computers never tried checking codes with jumper wire someone said it was easy to burn out or ???

With obd1, I've never had problems checking codes with jumper wire. Maybe there is always a first time, but, hasn't happened, yet. On older vehicles, I have seen mil lamp that didn't work for some reason. On those, I used a scanner to look at live engine data, see if anything looks out of kilter.

I'd have to check for injector pulse on the injector ground circuit, engine cranking. A noid lite will work. Also, if you have a digital multimeter that has a tach--duty cycle--dwell setting, I believe any of those will react to dc pulse. If the meter has a min/max setting, that should work.

What does it mean when one of the fuel injectors is leaking out fuel in to chamber? Does this mean I need to replace it?

Before you replace it, you want to check the o-ring underneath the injector.
