1991 Chevy Cheyenne Manual

how do i reset my radio because it has a anti theft so it isn't working? i'v checked the repair manual and it doesn't tell me how to reset it. we didn't know ahead of time that we would need some kind of password before disconnecting the radio. it says that i can go to a dealer to get it reset but i would like to know how to do it myself.

It is necessary to go to the dealer to obtain the radio code. Normally they don't charge to much because its only a number they call and enter clear code to obtain. Once they give you the code save it so if it happens again you can reset it yourself

If you wanted to install and aftermarket radio. Remove factory radio. Then you could either buy a pigtail harness and connect it to new radio. Or you can try to wire it yourself. You would need to find the power ground and ignition source and all speaker wires cut off connector and splice each wire individually.

You would need to get a diagram of which wire is which and what color. I cant paste the shematic on this page it comes out to small. Most autoparts store have manuals that give you diagram.
