First off, i live in Alaska. My truck has been sitting for about 2 months and I went to move it the other day. My "Check Gauges" light came on so I looked down and saw that I had no oil pressure. When I tried again I saw the oil pressure climb to about normal but after 10 seconds or so it dropped off again. I just installed a new oil pump this evening and there is no difference in pressure. My first thought was a cracked block but there is no oil in my radiator and no coolent in my oil pan. What would you suggest?

Thank You,
Scott Henrie

Do you have any type of knocking noise. Best way to handle this is hook up an oil pressure tester-remove the oil sending unit and install here-read off the pressure while engine is idling-is it within specifications-if so replace the oil sending unit.

BTW did you prime the new oil pump thru the distributor.

Yes, there is a small knocking noise which I honestly don't recall if it was there before I parked the truck. No, I didn't know to prime through the distributor.
