1991 Chevy Celebrity the car wont keep its charge

hi i was wondering if any one can help well my car was fine untill i broke down it was the altanotor (i think) so i replaced it and the car only keeps its charge when its getting a bust from anothe car but when u unplug it the car dies ... or runs really bad.... and some times it runs perfect until u turn it off and try to start it ... its totally dead dont keep its charge at all... so i was wondering if the altanator i put on is bad or if it is electrical.... because my hazard lights or brake lights dont work and the park lighs and indecators work fine i also pluged the coad reader in and it just blinks ,blinks, and bliks[img:ab017c3335]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/275781_the_24_001_1.jpg[/img:ab017c3335]
