1987 Chevy Celebrity Steering column

Hi, i bought this car used about 6 months ago and when i bought the steering wheel would wiggle up and down and also side to side. Today on my way to school rite when i got to the end of the road the steering locked up on me. I could not turn it at all so i went reverse all the way home.Also when i left for school the power would not go off and when i turned the steering whell sightly to the left the car would start without the key in it so i had to unhook the negitive on the battery. when i got home today the steering actual freed up a little and i put it in neutral and got it in the garage. i got a steering wheel puller and got the wheel off and know am trying to get the column off but am stuck. i cant figure out how to get the column off. Any ideas?
